At T's Your Palate, we believe that being part of a community means more than just serving great burgers. It means showing up when people need us most. When Rasuwa faced devastating floods, we didn't think twice. We acted.
For five years, we've built our reputation on being the best restaurant in Thamel — not just because of our food, but because of our heart. We've always believed that exceptional flavors go hand-in-hand with exceptional values. Our team, our customers, our community — they've supported us every step of the way. When our community faced a crisis, it was time to give back.
Understanding the Crisis
When the Rasuwa floods hit, we saw heartbreaking news. Families lost their homes. People lost everything. The region needed immediate help, and the need was urgent. At T's Your Palate, we couldn't sit in our kitchen and pretend it wasn't happening. We had to act.
We coordinated our efforts and partnered with organizations like Leo Club Kantipur dedicated to disaster relief. Together, we focused on doing what we do best — providing care, organizing resources, and making sure help reached people who needed it most.
What We Did
From August 27 to September 1, our team along with Team Leo led by Samyek was involved in coordinated relief efforts that helped over 5000 people. We weren't just sending money. We showed up with:
- Clothes for families
- Food to feed people who were struggling
- Support for families rebuilding their lives
Every item we provided was chosen with care. Every effort was made with intention. Because we understand something simple: when disaster strikes, people don't need sympathy. They need action.
The Lesson We Learned
Standing in a community affected by floods, we realized something profound. The best restaurant in Kathmandu isn't judged only by its burgers. It's judged by how it responds when people hurt.
Our team came together. Our partners stepped up. This wasn't a CSR checklist item. It wasn't about looking good. It was about being good. It was about understanding that when you've been blessed with success, you have a responsibility to lift others up.
Moving Forward
Rasuwa will rebuild. Families will recover. But this experience changed us at T's Your Palate. We realized that our purpose goes beyond the kitchen. We're here to serve Kathmandu in every way we can.
As we return to doing what we love — creating exceptional meals and moments — we carry this experience with us. We remember the families we helped. We remember that being the best restaurant in Thamel means being the best community member too.
Our promise is simple: whenever our community needs us, we will show up. Not with empty words, but with real action, real care, and real commitment.
